WHAT WE BELIEVE

At WomanKind, we believe that the health of individual women in our community affects the strength of the community as a whole, for women are the backbone of any community.  We are the mothers, wives, sisters, and daughters, who are the leaders, teachers, caregivers, and nurturers of those who will follow.

WHAT WE DO

WomanKind opened its doors on March 15, 2001, and in a few short years has become the largest provider of women’s heath care and health education in the Florida Keys.  We provide comprehensive primary and gynecological care and mental health counseling services, all under one roof.  Our services are available to women of all ages across all income levels.

PROGRAMS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

In 2007, WomanKind had 3693 visits by 1646 women.

WomanKind’s Teen Clinic, which provides healthcare, education, and counseling to adolescent girls in our community, has reduced the pregnancy rate of its patients to 4% - lower than the rate for the county and state.

WomanKind partners with government and private agencies to offer reduced fees to women with limited incomes.

WomanKind’s secondary care voucher program allows us to refer low-income women to specialists when their needs go beyond our ability to help. Additionally, Zonta provided financial assistance to our uninsured patients needing help obtaining paps and mammograms. Zonta also provided vouchers for select patients to obtain the HPV vaccine.

WomanKind’s free prevention-focused wellness programs have included diagnostic screenings for cardiovascular, bone and metabolic health, and have been attended by hundreds of Keys women.
